Judge Mark P. Painter served as a judge for 30 years (1982 to 2012), first for 13 years on the Hamilton County Municipal Court, followed by 14 years on the Ohio Court of Appeals, and then three years as one of seven judges (and the only American) on the United Nations Appeals Tribunal. Painter has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Cincinnati since 1990, and was named Distinguished Visiting Professor in 2008. He joined the law firm Manley Burke in June of 2012.
Mike retired from E.W. Scripps with more than 40 years’ experience as a newspaper reporter, editor, publisher and corporate executive. In addition to his role on the OJPC Board, he serves on the board of Forward Movement, an Episcopal publishing house, and is a senior consultant with Creative Circle, which advises publishers.
A well known and highly regarded Cincinnati activist, Eileen Cooper Reed has served as President of the Cincinnati Public Schools Board (2005-2013), Director and Chair of the Board for InterAct for Health (2005 – 2013), Board member and Chair of Board for the SC Ministry Foundation (2005 – 2011), and Director of the Children’s Defense Fund (1994-2005).
