Alicia Miller, Second Chance Lead Attorney

Alicia Miller joined OJPC in 2019 as the Lead Attorney for the Second Chance Clinic where she helps people overcome criminal-records-based barriers to employment, housing, education, and positive community reintegration. The Second Chance project also specializes in record sealing, expungement, and Certificates of Qualification for Employment (CQEs).

Alicia is a 2014 graduate of University of Cincinnati College of Law. Upon graduation, Alicia served as a Public Defender at the Marion County Public Defender Agency in Indianapolis, Indiana. She represented over 1,500 indigent clients and became the Misdemeanor Division’s Assistant Chief where her main focus was significantly decreasing the amount of clients who stayed in jail after their first hearing and connecting them with resources such as treatment and housing.

Alicia previously worked at OJPC as an intern for the Second Chance Clinic and Race and Justice Project. She was also a student in OJPC’s Constitutional Litigation Clinic where she represented clients with civil rights claims resulting from their incarceration and/or criminal history. Alicia is also a proud mom to her daughter, Avery Grace.
